Montana wildflower - possibly a Shooting Star

One of the things I love about Montana is the Wildflowers which are abundant and many varieties.

I think this flower is a Shooting Star. I’m not always sure of my identifying skills, in spite of several plant books. I’ve had the pleasure of a friend who could identify every flower, who would tell me the names, I’d take photos and make notes, but due to my poor organization of photos and notes and a short memory, the names escape me.

As some point, I decided that I’d just focus on enjoying their beauty and presence and not be stressed about remembering the names. It’s nice to know their names, and I do give my best shot, but I can enjoy their amazing beauty without the name.
